I have to admit my strategies to learn another language are not excellent.When I answered all the questions from the questionnaires to see my strategies to learn a new language, the results were in the middle.The scale for the questionnaires were 5 always, 4 usually, 3 occasionally, 2 rarely and 1 never. I scored 13 in the questionnaire for a good planner, which indicates that I am a good planner. I am not agree with this because I never plan ahead if I have a project that will be due next week. I always do my projects a day before the date due.In the questionnaire of noticing problems I scored 13, which means that I am a good monitor. I am agree with this because I like to pay close attention to what is unclear or difficult for me. The questionnaire for solving problems my score was 11, which indicates that I am a good evaluator. I am not sure about this one, because I don't ask questions all the time and the only good think is that I notice when I am having problems with something. In the grammar questionnaire, my score was 18, which indicated that I have effective grammar learning strategies. I don't think this is correct because my grammar is terrible. I am bad in grammar. The vocabulary questionnaire showed that I am an effective vocabulary learner. I am agree with this because learning vocabulary is easy for me. I just need to take time to study the new words. In the reading questionnaire for reading my score showed that I am an effective reader which is true because I read a lot.If you read a lot if helps you to be a good reader and know the new vocabulary because of the context. The writing questionnaire showed that I used efective writing techniques. I am not agree with this because when I wrote essays I never used outlines before I wrote them. And I recognized that I need to be more organized when I have to write long papers.

I am happy because this weekend will have a lot of surprises for me. I will start my new job this Saturday and I am scared but excited at the same time. I am scared because I don't know what exactly I have to do and I have a bad experience in my first day in any job. This Friday I have a party with my father's friend so I will eat Mexican food today. I like to try Mexican food but that is prepared from other person that is not my mom it’s kind of weird. Saturday, I will have another party but this one is my friends who will be 15 so she will have a special Quinceñera that many Hispanic people celebrated. A Quinceñera is a celebration that you need to have when you are 15 years old. During this ceremony you need to have a mass in church to say thanks to god and then a big celebration with your family and special friends. There you have to dance a special dance with your dad and then with all the members of your family. But I have to go to work this day so I will be late :(. On Sunday I will have another party and I will not go. I have to work all day. I have to organize my time to study, party and work. I will try because I said this since I was in 10 grade in high school.

ARGUMENT ESSAY (Sh0uLd Ab0rTi0n Be LeGaLiZeD?)

Abortion used to be illegal, but some countries have changed that in the last years. As a result, people said that unborn babies have the right to live. While others said that it should be free choice. Although, women can do whatever they want to their bodies, they must think about the future of the baby. Abortion should not be legalized because there are other solutions, for example adoption.

The church has said that everyone has the right to live. There are people who said that God gave us the life and he is the only one who can take it from us. The unborn baby in innocent and he/she have the right to live. Abortion should be used only if women's health is in danger. For example, if she may die if the unborn child is born. In addition, if the woman had been sexual abuse, she might use abortion if she desires to.

Abortion should be a free choice, woman has to decide if she wants to have her baby or not. However, if she decides to have an abortion, she will have to handle the psychological impact. The psychological impact of an abortion can be feeling depressed for the death of your baby and you may feel that you killed your own baby. But women have the right to do whatever they want like the constitution said, so they have the last word. There are many women who don't have their baby because they cannot support it. Instead of having an abortion, you can give your baby to adoption. And if sometimes you want to see, you may have the option.

In conclusion, abortion should not be legalized because there are many options to solve the problem. Killing an innocent person is not fair for nobody. The unborn child does not have to pay for the actions of her mother. Everyone has the right to live and be someone in life. If the mother does not want to have the baby she can give it to adoption to someone who desires to have baby and can have a family and give love to the baby.

I think that the Masi Tribe should change their culture. Women and men must be treat equally. Since many years ago women has changed their lifestyle. For example, women work and take care of the children as the same time in many countries. If they changed their culture they will be able to have a better standard of living. Men should focus more in working in the land so they can have different food to eat everyday. Land is a good source that make the life of humans better. Crops can be used as food. If they work in the land planting crops, they can sell the crops so they can earn money for their own benefits.Men should not be envious and take care of women. When women and boys are circumcised by men they suffered a lot. Men should think of the feelings of women and men who help their tribes to have a house and food to eat. Lastly, men must have respect for their wives because women do not cheat them. If men don't want someone to do something against them, they must not do it to other.

"I am not the best cook but I try" :)

I am not the best cook (chef) but I try. My mom was helped by me when she cooked. But everyone knows that the food tastes different when your mother does it or when you do it. In my opinion my grandmother and my mother are the best.. What I know how to cook is Tacos. Tacos are a typical Mexican food and very easy to prepare. The ingredients are tortillas, cheese, sauce, sour cream and lettuce. You can make tacos of meat, ham, potato or any other ingredient you want. First you have to put oil in a pot. Second you have to put the tortillas inside of a plastic bag and then put it in the microwave for about one minute. Third you separate the tortillas, after this you can put meat in the tortilla and roll it. Fourth, put it in the pot. Fifth, let the tacos guild and take them out. At the end you can put sour cream, sauce, lettuce and cheese. And that's all.

SaTuRdAy!!!

This Saturday I cleaned my room. I was helped by my brother. My room was made a mess. It had not been cleaned since five days ago, almost a week. My clothes was misplaced over all my room. My mom made me cleaned it. She said that I have to be more organized. I tried but I can't. Do you have any suggestions for me? I always made excuses to not clean my room. The room has been cleaned by my sister all the time. And now she complaints about me. Anyways I am trying to changed now. I cleaned my room and I spent 2 hours and 30 minutes cleaned in. My mom and sister will be invited me to the mall because I worked so hard my weekend. But at the same time my mom should have been mad at me because I should cleaned it like four days ago. I am satisfied with the cleaning I did. Finally I am done with the work I was supposed to do many days ago.

Movie: Material Girls

I watched this movie with my siblings. The movie was about two sisters who were rich and his father died but left them all his fortune. His father was a scientist who made products to cure acne problems. The main idea of the story is that money is not everything in life. The sisters were being invited by people to many important parties. However, one day a person was in a T.V. program and said that the treatment that his father had invented made his acne problem even worse. This made that the sister lost her house and everything they had. The sisters will be invited to lived with one of their friends. She is supposed to helped them in everything they need. A lawyer and a scientist helped them to find clues that will be demonstrated to show that her father did the right treatment for the acne. At the end they found clues to demonstrate that his father did the right job. I think that some things that may be should be different are: A sister should have been cared more about their feelings than for the money. The sisters ought to be helped by their closest friends. Sister had better be taught that money is not necessary to be happy.

"Delaworld 101" (7/18/07)

Today I went to Delaworld where I knew a lot of people. My mother and brother accompanied me. During this time I had to choose my classes for my freshman year in this fall. The new students were being helped by other students from UD. The parents were separate from the students because they had other orientations. I was excited because I met new students who will have some classes with me. The students were from different places and this year will be interesting because it will be a diversity in UD. My mom was being helped by Martin my brother, who explain everything to my mother. I was helped by a student to chose my classes. It was hard to decide what I class I want to take because I don't like science and I still have to take courses in college. Students and families were being helped by the faculty in anything they need. A ticket was being given to all the families by the program, so we did not have to pay for our lunches. I am ready to start my freshman year because I know I will have support all the time.

This weekend I had a lot of fun...My mom told me that I had to clean my room because I never have time to clean it during the week. I was kind of angry cause I had other plans to do this weekend. Anyways, I did it because I don't like to have a dirty room. My brother told me that I should help him to fix his bike because he will needed for the week. He will like to play soccer with his friends on Monday and he will need his bike. So, I took some of my time to do it. My sister said that if I can help go with her to the mall and I was more than happy to do that. At the time my friend called me and told me that he was at the mall therefore I asked him to wait for us. When we had arrive to the mall my friend had already left. This weekend has surprises for me but I had a lot of fun.

Summer 2007

This summer I am taking classes in the ELI. I have to take Listening/Speaking class and a Writing class. I can get to know a lot of people from different countries and that's so cool. I will recommend other students who want to learn English to take these classes. This should help you to learn your listening, writing and speaking skills. You have to leave your country if your want to take ELI classes. But you can have contact with your family. Another thing is that you don't have to pay for tutoring if you needed because it is included with your classes. This is a good opportunity just givi it a try. And explore how life might be in another country.

Last Summer

Last summer I had a lot of fun. I went to Washington D.C. with a group of friends. We are all part of a program that paid everything for the trip. During this trip we met a lot of people. I made a lot of new friends. I learned what other people may think about a specific subject. One day while we were walking to a store I saw my new friends at the other side of the street. I talked with them and they invited me to eat ice cream. The only bad thing was that we just stayed two days when we were supposed to stayed five days. And at the end I didn't have time to ate the ice cream with my new friends :). Anyways after this trip I had the chance to went to vacations to Mexico for one week. And I had the opportunity to saw my family and friends again after a long time.

I don't really know how to start but i will start by telling that I am from Mexico. I came to the United Stated of America five years ago. Life has not been easy for me. I started middle school and at the moment I realized that life in USA will not be easy. At the end when I started high school I begin to think that I have to learned English and in this way by life will be more easy. English was hard because the verbs change a lot and the pronunciation is hard. In Spanish you said the words the way they are wrote. The first years I missed a lot my family, friends and food and at this moment I still miss them so much. But I came here for a better life so I stay here with my family. I get to know a lot of people who help me in everything I need. My teachers helped me a lot and some of my friends helped me a lot too. I always want to get a good education and I really want to get to college. When I was a senior I filled my application to get to college and I get in. My teacher helped me to get a good financial aid. So this year I will start my freshman year. I know it will be hard but nothing is impossible for me. I enjoy to try hard things because I know it will be challenging for me, but at the end I will learn something new. During this summer I am taking listening and writing classes so I will be prepare for my first year in college. I will not be what I am right now if my family was not with me all this time. Thanks to them that have been with me all the time. Some of the hobbies that I like to do are play soccer and basketball, listen to music, spend time with my family, talk in the phone, chat with my friends and go out with my family and friends. I like to help people and this is one reason why I will like to be a lawyer. My major will be a Criminal Justice. I love Mexican food and Chinese food. And I think this is all I can say about me!! :)
